Nigeria 419 Refugge Letters 2010

The death penalty and yet on the West

E 'come!

In the end, awaited by all, has arrived ... The death sentence for Saddam Hussein came quietly, sneaking in two days before the elections in the United States. In addition to highlighting the anger and outrage for a penalty against all ethics I refer instead to the timing of the sentence. It will be a case in the elections but maybe you wanted to call to vote Republican all the fanatics who believe in the global war on terrorism. I will tell you that I'm not surprised that much this story, I do not know if you remember the video of Bin Laden before the last U.S. presidential.

makes me even more disgusted but the joy for the death penalty by the Brit and U.S. governments, which most democratic governments in theory the world and respect for fundamental rights. The death penalty is an unjust punishment and I think unthinkable today, even for criminals like Saddam. Thinking back even though the UN Security Council, the U.S. has proposed as a non-permanent member in Guatemala, one of the states, Cuba, where capital punishment still exists.

Then Blair, for many defined the model for the European left, has approved the execution. Absurd, simply absurd ...

Fortunately the rest of Europe, including Italy mouth of Prodi and D'Alema has sharply condemned the sentence. I hope you reopen an open discussion many times and never finished: the abolition of the death penalty worldwide. A campaign must be conducted worldwide and international bodies invalid (not sure the current UN) that are able to pursue this goal even by imposing penalties and sanctions for those states that do not comply with the directives.

A beautiful utopia, eh??
